Deil's Stane
Known on the maps as "Samson's Stone" this erratic rock was carried from the Grampian Mountains by glaciers and some of its "siblings" can be found on Wormit beach. some stories say that it was thrown across the Tay by a giant, others that the Devil came down to Balmerino shore and was infuriated to see the new church spire at Longforgan acrss the Tay, so he took three, huge stones. The first one he threw at the spire fell short and can be seen at low tide in Invergowrie bay. The next stone went wide and is sitting near the "Swallow" roundabout at the edge of Dundee. Having missed twice, he dropped the third stone in disgust here on the shore and stormed off.
